You can monitor National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Weather Radio broadcasts very well since Weather Radio stations transmit at much higher power than mobile transmitters. It’s a nice feature to have on a portable CB and makes the Midland 75-822 a standout choice for travelers who want to be in the know.
This is a very compact, well designed, and versatile unit that can be easily moved from one vehicle to another or used as a walkie-talkie. Adjacent channel selectivity is quite good. You have options to run the unit on (6) AA Batteries, (8) Ni-cads or even a 12V cig plug.

It’s a pretty decent mobile unit with the adapter. With an external antenna the range is tremendously improved. You can get over 15 miles with this midland radio when you tune it to the antenna. By the way, while on vehicle, you will need a helmet headset as the volume level is far too low to hear over an engine, air, and outside noises.
It’s perfect for small vehicles. But remember external antennae are a must if used in vehicle. Highly recommended.
